Dalhousie University Biomaterials Innovation Lab

Dalhousie University Biomaterials Innovation Lab

US$0.00

The Biomaterials Innovation Laboratory is designed to be a state of the art research facility located in the Dentistry Building at Dalhousie University. Research in this lab is currently slated to include creating degradable bioactive glass material capable of releasing therapeutic inorganic ions with the potential to supplement cancer treatment regimes or as a standalone therapeutic option. As a critical facility reflecting industry leading research, the facility will be a showcase for the university.

The lab will provide a collaborative space for researchers, both Dalhousie faculty and new external industry partners. The lab is designed to standards and a level of finish that industry partners would experience in their own labs. The program was developed through a comprehensive engagement strategy with lab users. The renovated area of 3,795 sq.ft. will provide a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory with discovery spaces, collaborative lab spaces, and meeting space.

Fundraising activities to construct this project are currently underway.
