Dartmouth North Public Library

US$0.00

The Dartmouth North Community Centre, established in 1996, serves a vibrant neighbourhood whose demographics and density are rapidly changing. The building houses an active multi-purpose community centre and a 2600 sqft library which we will be adding a small addition to house a program room for 15–20 people. We are approaching this project with architectural flexibility in mind in order to accommodate the ever-changing community dynamics.

The program for the Dartmouth North Library was developed in consultation with the Halifax Regional Municipality and Halifax Public Libraries. In addition to the program room we will be adding a dedicated space for book drop and processing, areas for child, youth and adult programming. These spaces were organized in order to establish clear sightlines to the child and youth areas from the main circulation desk and staff areas.
