Fathom Studio is working in conjunction with Moriyama and Teshima Architects on this 18 million dollar building overhaul. The new Port Renovation building will be an opportunity to not only be inclusive but be more sustainable as NSCAD embarks to renovate and redefine one of the three Campuses: The Port Campus.

The project will see 30,000 square feet of learning space transferred from its current historic location at the Fountain Campus to new purpose-built facilities at the University’s Port Campus. The program of the Port Campus is industrial in nature and includes a metal shop, wood shop and plastics laboratory and Foundry accessible to all departments within the building: Jewellery, Sculpture, Ceramics and the Fashion and Textiles Department.

The new design will re-imagine the way students and Faculty move around the building by creating a new main entrance and student-centered collaboration areas throughout the building. Phased construction is expected to end in 2024.
