Ekistics Plan + Design Wins Atlantic Planners Institute Award for Fort Needham Master Plan

In October 2017, Ekistics Plan + Design was honoured with an Award of  Excellence for their master plan of Fort Needham in the category of Physical Plans and Design from the Atlantic Planners Institute (API).

The plan was designed to commemorate the memory of the lives lost during the Halifax Explosion as well as to ensure an enduring recreational legacy for the community surrounding Fort Needham. The new plan sees the park as a living memorial for one of Atlantic Canada’s worst disasters and will help guide development in the park and surrounding community in the future.

This project represents the work of our landscape architecture and planning departments.

The Atlantic Planners Institute is an association that supports professional planners in the four Provincial Associations in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada : New Brunswick Association of Planners, Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Professional Planners, Licensed Professional Planners of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Association of Planners.
