Truth and Reconciliation Day 2023

Today, Fathom Studio stands united with our fellow Canadians in commemorating Truth and Reconciliation Day. As a day of reflection and remembrance, it is imperative that we take a moment to pause, to listen, and to learn.

At Fathom Studio, we understand that the journey towards reconciliation is ongoing and done through education. We also know that reconciliation cannot happen without truth.

Each year, we select a theme to deepen our understanding and continue our learning. This year, we have chosen the theme of ceremony. We selected ceremony because team members have been invited to participate in a variety of ceremonies with different Indigenous partners. Learning about ceremony allows us to have a deeper understanding of the individual communities we work with. Our Indigenous Cultural Advisor, Ardena Paul of Paq’tnkek First Nation led us in a morning of listening, learning and participation with the assistance of our Equity Diversity Justice and Inclusion Committee.

We, at Fathom Studio, are honored to be a part of this journey towards reconciliation. By exploring the theme of "ceremony," we hope to gain a deeper appreciation for Indigenous cultures and contribute to truth and reconciliation.
