Our relationship with Algonquin started in 2009 with the design of a comprehensive sign system that addressed both interior and exterior wayfinding requirements.
The scope of services included a site audit, best practices research, design of the system, a design standards document, and an online web component for the college’s Woodroffe Campus in southwestern Ottawa. The initial project has since expanded into a long-term relationship with Algonquin College, continuing into 2020.
As the college continues to expand, we have worked with the institution to update and expand its wayfinding system, ensuring it complies with the latest accessibility legislation in Ontario (Design for Public Spaces Standard/AODA).
Current projects include planning an update to the entire system, some ten years since its implementation to make the most of changes in production technology and adapt the designs to new standards in accessibility and inclusivity and growth of the campus infrastructure.
