North Shore Spirit Trail
North Shore Spirit Trail
A visionary project
In 2007 the City of North Vancouver set a goal to create 6.5km of trail traversing urban, industrial, residential, and naturalized areas, within 10 years. The Spirit Trail connects Vancouver’s North Shore communities with a common, waterfront oriented alternative transportation route. This fully accessible greenway connects previously isolated communities and major destinations while providing breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains.
We were retained to develop a comprehensive wayfinding signage strategy for the trail, one which reflected the values and brands of the stakeholders (including the City and District of North Vancouver, the City of West Vancouver and the Squamish First Nation), and whose design and function inspired citizens to get out and use the trail.
